Dreaming of Spring

Today I saw a gopher
        he flipped his tail
        and winked at me.

Today I saw spring,
       the wind smiled
       and the sun laughed.

Today I saw the puddles of melted snow.

Today I saw the trees start to bud and grow.

Today I heard the birds
        chattering about the new feeder
        and the weather.

Today I saw the first flower.
        It peaked it's face through the snow...

Today I saw Spring.
